Earphones found. Activating Lip-synch...

"He may be out of his mind, but someday you will find insanity's left us all blind and dragged us all behind."

Lyrics to. 15 points kapag may makasabi ng title at artist nito without having to scroll down to read this blog entry. :D

Ever since elementary, little by little, I've become more and more attached to music. Tapos ayun, "naadik", in a way. What started out with random flipping of the TV channels, became a part of me I still hold tightly today.

OK. Enough history.

Pop music, to be specific. So now, you'll find me listening to rock most of the time.

Since you were inspired by a band, do you have interest in performing songs on instruments?

Yes. Yes, I do. I do covers from time to time and upload them on Youtube. Now, I've also become used to playing the drums a bit.

Do you have a band?

Once again, yes. Yurana's the name. We're a four-man band na walang specific vocalist. Haha. We like to perform covers. I'm not gonna go into details about it here because in my opinion, it deserves a separate blog post for it. :D

Sharing time! :D

Tired of your playlist? Want to explore into something heavier? Well, I can't guarantee that my tastes are be heavier than yours but here are a few of the bands I am into at the moment. Ready? Then here we go...

1. Linkin Park

Salamat sa LP at nauso ang "In the End" (kaya hindi ko na ilalagay yun sa links). The LP that debuted on the media is the first band that I became a fan of. Now, they've moved on to making music distinct from the sound that gave them their fame, which is artistically good.  Although their new songs are good, guitar-driven choruses and melodic/rap-driven verses would be good once in a while. :D

Crawling - Loud chorus, soft verses. No transition in between.
Points of Authority - It's cool how far a single riff can take a song.
The Catalyst - One from their latest. Not bad, if I do say so myself.

2. Green Day

"Wake Me Up When September Ends" at "21 Guns". Punk origins, although whether or not their new material are considered punk is debatable. So eto...

She - Short, 3-chord song. Catchy, nevertheless, still punk. \,,/
Before the Lobotomy - Good verses. Great intro and outro.
Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - Believe it or not, this song was written about a breakup.

3. Avenged Sevenfold

Ok, so maybe hindi niyo to naririnig sa mga radyo. But still, if you're into that drop-tuned guitar sound with heavy drums, give them a listen. This band also creates songs from biblical stories. If you've played Guitar Hero 2 or Guitar Hero Arcade, you probably seen or encountered the song title "Beast and the Harlot" (GH2) or "Almost Easy" (GH Arcade). That's them. Despite the death of their original drummer, the band still continued to make music. RIP The Rev (the drummer; the right-most in the picture).

Beast and the Harlot - Biblical reference: Exodus 17-18. The fall of Babylon.
So Far Away - One of their sentimental songs. Very well written.
Save Me - An epic song in epic length.

4. Slipknot

A nine-man nu-metal band from Des Moines, Iowa (pronounced Deh-Moyn, Ayowa. Damn English, Y U NO SIMPLIFY SPELLING?). Compared to metal sub-genre black metal (I'm not touching this genre), this is nothing to be afraid of. Slipknot showed me the heavier side of nu-metal and I like it.

Vermilion - "I won't let this build up inside of me." Definitely worth the listen.
Vermilion, pt.2 - Same concept with Vermilion except it's played acoustic. For the sentimental people. :)
Everything Ends - Heartbroken and angry? Give this a try. Totally awesome.

5. Maximum the Hormone

And now we go to Japan for some punk-influenced, nu-metal. What I liked about this band is the vocal diversity, from the cutesy-Japanese girl style singing to the loud screaming and growling. The same can be said for their play style, from melodic/funky parts to a heavy, headbanging parts. Every member in this band creates the awesomeness that is Maximum the Hormone.

Zetsubou Billy - For those who watched the anime, Death Note, you probably know this as the second ending song.
Rolling1000TOON - A catchy chorus with rap verses. An upbeat song overall.
Bu-ikikaesu! - A personal favorite. Funky song. \,,/(-_-)

And last, but not the least, in this list...

6. Dir En Grey

This band just blew me away, man. Well-orchestrated melodies and a HUGE vocal range for the vocalist, which is considered as the band's primary asset. Melodic singing, guttural growling, painful screaming, making sounds what a strangled elf I imagine would make, Kyo's (the vocalist's) vocal chords are wonders of nature. The emotions and moods of their songs are greatly expressed by the band.

ain't afraid to die - Symphonic rock. Clean vocals. Inspiring, in a way. Great song.
-saku- - Short and heavy. Clean and harsh vocals present. WARNING: Video contains shocking imagery. Just sayin'.
Ryoujoku no Ame - It's kinda salsa-inspired (correct me if I'm wrong), so you can probably dance to some parts here.

<<end of list>>

So there, you have some new stuff to (try and) listen to. Further entries may include mention other songs from aforementioned bands (Hanep, "aforementioned".) and more, so keep reading or you know, you could just search for it/them. Happy hunting!

So...anyone got that 15 points? :D
